I’ll let you in on a secret – I live a conflicted prayer life. I struggle to find a balance between enthusiasm and obligation. Knowing I should do it yet, after doing it for more than 60 years, feeling that I’m an inept beginner.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
I’ve settled into a sort of prayer awareness where I involve God in my thoughts throughout the day, but not as a formal prayer. In fact, I cringe at the thought of being asked to pray in a formal setting.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
In an attempt to bring more spiritual practices into my life, I am trying a new deliberate prayer practice. Each day of the week has a specific focus, for instance,<\/p>\r\n
I’ve made a document with headings for each day, and I add names of people or topics under each day. It helps me break down a large jumble of random topics into a manageable daily bites.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
