In Christ Daily – Day 8
For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
Ephesians 1:4
Thought of the Day:
God’s end goal for us is that we will be holy and blameless, not by the standards of this world, but by God’s own standards. How amazing is that? The goal is not doing great things for God; it is becoming what God has already chosen for us. If it was by the world’s standards, we might have a chance to achieve the goal, but it is by God’s own standards, so we are completely dependent on God intervention. Once again, this happened in Christ from before the creation of the world. God chose this for humanity before any of us had the opportunity to reject it. When God wants something, it will be achieved.
Action of the Day:
Put a Post-it note on your mirror that says, “I am holy and blameless in God’s sight” to remind yourself that God sees you better than you could ever imagine. Let that affirmation encourage you every time you look in the mirror and see that note.
Prayer of the Day:
God who sees the beginning from the end, give me the ability to see as you see. Show me where my faulty thinking blinds me from being able to see myself as holy and blameless. Remind me today that you see me from your perspective – release me from my limited understanding which stops me seeing clearly.
