The importance of Spiritual Practices in relation to Christian Faith cannot be understated. They are a means to an end where the end is becoming like Jesus. Spiritual Practices, also known as Spiritual Disciplines, have been part of Christianity for 2000 years, providing life practices that focus our minds on Jesus and his teaching, example and lifestyle.
Disciples are apprentices; staying with the Rabbi, hearing what he says, doing what he does, becoming like him. This works itself out in our lives through the Spiritual practices that we build into our daily lives.
This page contains links to podcasts of sites that discuss types of practice. As an introduction to and overview of Spiritual Practices, I recommend this site which includes content from Brian McLaren, a respected teacher and author associated with the Center for Action and Contemplation (founded by Fr. Richard Rohr)
