The BibleProject

I would like to highlight another amazing web resource that I’ve been hearing about for the past two years. The BibleProject is a non-profit, crowdfunded organization that produces 100% free Bible videos, podcasts, blogs, classes, and educational Bible resources to help make the biblical story accessible to everyone everywhere.

Their Bible resources help people experience the Bible in a way that is approachable, engaging, and transformative. They do this by showcasing the literary art of the Scriptures and tracing biblical themes from beginning to end. Rather than taking the stance of a specific tradition or denomination, they create materials to elevate the Bible for all people and draw our eyes to its unified message.

Practicing The Way

Founded by John Mark Comer

“These practices are designed to be done over four weeks in a small group or larger community. The weekly gathering for teaching and conversation is one hour long. We curate modern and ancient formation voices as we offer recommended reading, a companion podcast series for each Practice, and weekly Reach Exercises for those that want to dig deeper. We need to practice Jesus’ teachings, to get his ideas from our minds into the muscle memory of our bodies. We do this by adopting practices from Jesus’ own life, time-tested disciplines for the spiritual life that open up our entire being to God and allow him to transform us into people of love. Our nine core Practices work together to form a Rule of Life for the modern era.”

Biologos

In 2009, BioLogos launched its website, including the first Common Questions pages and a regular blog. Later in 2009, BioLogos held its first of several annual events in New York City, hosted by pastor Tim Keller, for leading pastors and theologians to gather with believing scientists for dialogue and worship.Since then, the website has grown into a rich resource of videos, articles, and curricula from hundreds of authors. Other key programs include the “Biology by the Sea” workshop for high school teachers (2010-2012) and the “Evolution and Christian Faith” grants program which funded 37 projects across North America and Europe (2013-2015).

Spirituality and Practice

“Spiritual practices are not activities to add to your busy schedule or crowded “to do” list. They are not confined to a special place or time. They are what you do every day. They are how you wake up and come alive to the spiritual reality all around you. Practice is the path we travel on our spiritual journey, so everything we do can be a practice.”

(As expressed in the book “Big Questions“, if God is the God of all creation, then spirituality is universal and not confined to Christianity. Truth about God can be found in every culture and faith system, so this website has been included because it discusses many ways that spirituality can be practiced in our daily lives. Not all the practices on this site will be a fit for every person, so use what you find helpful and leave the rest.)

Spiritual Practices: Deepening Our Relationship with God

“We believe there is an invitation into deeper intimacy with God. If you are new on your walk with Jesus, you might still be learning about the ways in which each of us are hard-wired to best spend time in God’s presence.

“If you’ve been a Christian for a while, it’s good to reflect on whether there is an invitation to try a new spiritual discipline or practice as an opportunity to deepen intimacy.

“We have gathered a range of resources here that are a snapshot of common spiritual disciplines. Have a look at see if there’s anything new that leaps out at you. Some of them are based around prayer and worship. Some around the relationships we have with other Christians, or with the wider world and community around us.”
