In Christ Daily – Day 11
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us.
Ephesians 1:7-8a
Thought of the Day:
Following on from yesterday’s verse which remined us that God’s grace has already been given to us, today’s verse tells us that in includes redemption and forgiveness. God in and through Christ cannot stop lavishing on us the riches of the Kingdom. This is the amazingly good news of the gospel.
Thinking for a moment about the nature of the gifts mentioned in this verse, we see that God is making possible all that is necessary to enable our relationship with Him. We are lavished with robes of righteousness that signify our identity as heirs of the Kingdom. God wants nothing less that us to share in all that He is.
Action of the Day:
Busyness can be the enemy of thoughtfulness, so take a few moments throughout the day to breathe deeply and slowly. As you breathe in, think of the riches God has given you. As you breathe out, relax into God’s loving kindness.
Prayer of the Day:
Giver of all good gifts, I often take them for granted. Help me today to slow down enough to see your goodness and grace in my life.
