In Christ Daily – Day 16
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people
Ephesians 1:18
Thought of the Day:
We have been reflecting on God’s loving plan to unite heaven and earth in Christ. Today’s verse is a reminder from Paul that we need the eyes of our hearts opened to see what God already knows – we need God to enlighten us to his calling which already exists.
Paul himself, didn’t realise this until the scales fell from his eyes (Acts chapter nine). God’s grace is extended to us and the calling to experience the riches of his glorious inheritance is for all people. We can pray, as Paul did, that the eyes of our heart and those we know will be enlightened to know the hope we have in Christ.
Action of the Day:
Consider today what has happened or might happen during your day that could block the awareness of the riches of God’s glorious inheritance. Remind yourself that God is in the business of opening blind eyes whether it be physically, emotional, or spiritual blindness.
Prayer of the Day:
Giver of sight to the blind, open the eyes of my heart today so see who I am in Christ, and to accept the riches of your glorious inheritance.
