In Christ Daily – Day 7 – Resources for Faith and Practice

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

Ephesians 1:3

Thought of the Day:

This verse has two groups of words; Praise and blessed, and heavenly and spiritual. We offer praise for things we experience, but often do we fail to express gratitude because we can’t see or don’t appreciate what is around us. Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one returned to give thanks for the healing. Which group are we in?

Paul is reminding us to look with spiritual eyes and acknowledge the blessings that God has given us, and in doing so, we pause to recognise that all God’s spiritual blessings are within Christ.

Action of the Day:

Ask yourself, “In what ways do I need to adjust my spiritual eyesight today so that I can see God’s spiritual blessings in my day?”

Take a few moments to invite God to open your eyes as Elijah prayed for his servant in 2 Kings 6:17-20 so that you can see the extend of God’s spiritual blessing.

Prayer of the Day:

God of blessing, I often overlook your goodness to me. Help me today to see you in the beauty and people around me. Open my spiritual eyes to see as Christ saw you.
